New quality manager is in just the right place

Procudan has hired a calm organiser to lead our quality department.

Mette Guldborg likes things to be right where they belong.

As a born organiser, she must therefore be very pleased that she chose to follow a career in quality management. Quality management is a line of work where structure and order are very important, which makes it the perfect choice of occupation for Mette.

- Finding job satisfaction in quality management requires an appreciation of order and the ability to take an interest in the details. I am in no doubt that this is the right line of work for me. And I also know exactly which drawers everything is in, she says smiling.

Mette started as Quality and Environment Manager at Procudan in December when she was thrown straight into all the tasks that lay ahead. These included Procudan’s FSSC 22000 recertification and final ISO 14001 environmental management approval.

Managers must leave space

Although she enjoys working with the details, Mette Guldborg understands that being a manager means that she also has to focus on the big picture.

- My obsession with detail can be a challenge in my role as a manager because in this role I have to be able to give my employees the space and freedom to perform their tasks, she explains.

Going forward, she will set the direction for a team that performs a key role at Procudan. Documentation, traceability, the environment and, not least, food safety are crucial conditions for business, and there are high expectations of quality from both our customers and from other business partners.
